9. Processi decisionali automatizzati

10. Cookie e archiviazione locale
Il Negozio non usa cookie di profilazione né strumenti di analisi, pubblicità o tracciamento. SQL Studio Gateway · Online store
Privacy Notice for Purchases
Last updated: October 20, 2026 · Version 2026-10-23
This notice, provided under art. 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the "GDPR"), describes how IT Service processes the personal data of those who buy SQL Studio Gateway licenses in the online store (the "Store"), of those who use the licenses purchased, and of those who contact support. In short: we use the data only to sell and deliver the license, issue the invoice, verify the license and answer support requests. We do not use the data for marketing and we do not sell it.
1. Data controller
The data controller is IT Service, Via Nazionale 120, 90045 Cinisi (PA), Italy, VAT number IT06176100821. For any matter concerning personal data: support@geolox.it or the support form.
2. Scope of this notice
This notice covers purchases in the Store, online license verification and support requests. The SQL Studio apps for Mac, iPhone and iPad have their own privacy policy.
The gateway is installed and run on the Customer's servers: IT Service has no access to the gateway or to the data it processes (user accounts, audit log, databases). The Customer is the controller of that data.
3. Data processed
- Identification and contact data: customer type (consumer or business), country, first and last name, email address, phone number.
- Business customer data: company name, VAT number or tax number, result of the VAT number check through the VIES service, SDI recipient code or PEC address, if provided.
- Billing data: billing address, collected on Stripe's payment page (Stripe Checkout).
- Order and payment data: product, quantity, price, order date, payment status and identifiers. Card and other payment instrument details are entered directly on Stripe: IT Service never receives or stores them.
- Recorded acceptances: acceptance of the Terms of Sale and License (with their version), specific approval of clauses under articles 1341 and 1342 of the Italian Civil Code and, for consumers, the request for immediate supply and the acknowledgement of losing the right of withdrawal, each with date and time.
- Technical purchase data: IP address and browser information at the time of purchase.
- Extra users: number of extra users, subscription status, renewal dates and the Stripe ids of the customer, the subscription and the receipts.
- License and verification data: license key, licensee, number of installations and of users allowed, and the data sent by the gateway at each check (license key, random installation id, non-reversible fingerprint of the machine id, operating system, architecture, processor model and count, memory, gateway and runtime versions, number of configured accounts, server name, gateway version, IP address), with the date and time of the checks.
- Support requests: name, email address, content of the request and any information provided by the data subject.
4. Purposes and legal bases
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Concluding and performing the contract: handling the order and payment, delivering the license key and download link, activating and verifying the license, managing installations, providing support and answering pre-purchase questions. | Performance of a contract or of pre-contractual steps taken at the data subject's request (art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). |
| Complying with legal obligations, in particular accounting and tax obligations: issuing and keeping invoices, checking VAT numbers, responding to requests from authorities. | Legal obligation (art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). |
| Preventing fraud and protecting the license: checking that the key is used as licensed (number of installations, sharing with third parties), documenting the acceptances given at purchase and, where necessary, establishing, exercising or defending IT Service's rights. | IT Service's legitimate interest in fraud prevention and license protection (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). |
The data is not used to send commercial or marketing communications, or for profiling. The emails IT Service sends concern only the order, the license and support.
5. Whether providing data is mandatory
Providing the data requested in the order form and on the payment page is necessary to conclude the contract and to comply with legal obligations: without it, the purchase is not possible. Sending license verification data is necessary for the gateway to work (clause 5 of the Terms of Sale and License). Support request data is necessary to answer.
6. Recipients
To the extent necessary for the purposes above, the data may be disclosed to:
- Stripe Payments Europe Ltd (Ireland), the payment service provider, which also processes the data needed for payment as an independent controller, under its own privacy policy;
- the email delivery provider;
- the hosting provider of the Store and license servers;
- IT Service's accountant or tax advisor;
- the European Commission, through the VIES service, to check EU VAT numbers;
- the Italian Revenue Agency (Agenzia delle Entrate), through the Exchange System (Sistema di Interscambio), for electronic invoicing, and other public authorities when required by law.
Providers that process data on behalf of IT Service are appointed as processors under art. 28 GDPR. The current list can be requested at support@geolox.it. The data is not made public.
7. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Stripe and some providers may also process data in the United States. These transfers are based on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, for certified recipients, or on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission (art. 46 GDPR). A copy of the safeguards can be requested at support@geolox.it.
8. Retention
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Order and invoicing data, including recorded acceptances and technical purchase data | 10 years, as required for accounting records (art. 2220 of the Italian Civil Code) |
| License and verification data | For the life of the license and for 12 months after it ends |
| Support requests | 24 months |
| Unpaid or abandoned orders | 12 months |
At the end of these periods the data is deleted or anonymized, unless further retention is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims or to comply with a legal obligation.
9. Automated decision-making
IT Service does not take decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal effects concerning the data subject or similarly significantly affect them (art. 22 GDPR).
10. Cookies and local storage
The Store does not use profiling cookies or any analytics, advertising or tracking tools. It saves in the browser only one technical item (a localStorage entry) with the chosen language, used to show the pages in that language and not used to identify the user. The payment page is operated by Stripe on its own domain, and Stripe's privacy policy applies to it.
11. Your rights
In the cases and within the limits set by articles 15–22 GDPR, data subjects have the right to:
- access their data and receive a copy (art. 15);
- have it rectified (art. 16) or erased (art. 17);
- obtain restriction of processing (art. 18);
- receive the data they provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and transmit it to another controller (portability, art. 20);
- object at any time, on grounds relating to their particular situation, to processing based on legitimate interest (art. 21);
- not be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing (art. 22);
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. None of the processing described in this notice is based on consent.
To exercise these rights, write to support@geolox.it. IT Service replies without undue delay and in any case within one month of the request, a period that may be extended in the cases provided for by art. 12 GDPR. For data processed by the gateway, contact the organization that operates it.
12. Complaints to the supervisory authority
Data subjects who believe that the processing of their data infringes the GDPR may lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or with the supervisory authority of the Member State where they habitually reside, work, or where the alleged infringement took place.
13. Changes
Any changes to this notice will be published on this page, with the update date and version number. This notice is written in Italian and English; in case of any discrepancy, the Italian version prevails.
